about

Take the time to ease your mind, and the apocalypse will still be looming when you get back, but then you'll actually be capable of handling it.

lyrics

People say the year has been
Worse than those before
I would say there’s decades if not
Centuries of missteps to pay for
Randomness is common
Cruelty is too
Fascists lead the nations and
Nobody’s sure just how to cope with
Not knowing if we will make it
Through, well I threw my

Problems in the trash, plucked them
Out of my mind’s eye
The world ain’t getting better yet,
But at least I don’t wanna die
It's a comedy of errors, and a
Tragedy as well, but you can
Laugh about it, cry about it
Think about it later
The apocalypse will wait
'til you get back, see there’s

Rigged elections in most places
All to help just certain races
Running down the list, we’re almost
Through Biblical plagues
Denial of reality
Becomes a Chekov’s gun
When the leader of a nation thinks in
Lies before act one, there’s been
Finally some mass unrest
To try and change the world (hell yes!)
Anarchistic communes
Influencers playing fakes
The looming threat of nukes, it’s like we’re
Back in ‘62, and
Don’t forget the murder hornets
Face it, you forgot the murder hornets too

So the world seems like a mess,
I think we all can attest to that
Constant questions asking me what’s next
God was playing dice
After Einstein told him he should quit
I searched how to cope and read to

Throw my problems in the trash, they’re
Out of my mind’s eye,
Complain about our fate with friends,
So at least I don’t wanna die
It's a comedy of errors, and a
Tragedy as well, but you can
Laugh about it, cry about it
Try and fix it later
The apocalypse will wait
'til you get back

Nothing needs to make sense when we
Try to think it out
No karma and no justice here to
Bring light to our doubt
When no one saw it coming
The textbooks won’t be kind
So we must accept the randomness
The awful and the callousness
The worldview of an absurdist
Cause we won’t know what’s
Next, have you tried

Stretching out your muscles for a
Walk at a protest
The bosses won’t care cause it ain’t their
House getting repossessed
Pills and medications won’t stop
Armageddon's march, and
In the process you’d pay for a
CEO’s new car, maybe
Thoughts and prayers for a better
Future won’t go wrong
Sure it might feel good for now, but
No one’s changing songs
Maybe we could restart, and try
America 2, though
No one seems pro-radical
Oh wow, we’re totally screwed
So I’ll

Throw my problems in the trash, they’re
Out of my mind’s eye,
Nothing’s gonna change that way,
But at least I don’t wanna die
It's a natural disaster, and there’s
Chaos here to thrive, so you can
Laugh about it, cry about it
Gamble on it later
The apocalypse will wait
‘til you get back
‘til we get back
We’ll take it back

about

The Facades Amherst, Massachusetts

The Facades is the solo project of a queer electronic music composer (she/they) who thinks consistent gender and consistent genre are for scrubs. The characters they portray take a front seat, with a witty lyrical edge to speak truth to power.
